Established in 1996, Temple Street Productions is an independent television, film and digital media production company based in Toronto, Canada. The company produces scripted and unscripted productions from primetime television dramas and comedies, as well as youth programs, feature films and reality series. Past and present Temple Street projects include Being Erica, Wingin' It, Billable Hours, Queer as Folk, Darcy's Wild Life, Canada's Next Top Model, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria, Style Her Famous, Spoiled Rotten, Mr. Friday and Blueprint for Disaster. Temple Street also produces on-line and digital content.
Temple Street is run by Co-Presidents Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier, who also executive-produce most of the company’s projects. Senior executives include: Tecca Crosby, Vice President, Drama; Andrea Boyd, Vice President, Production; Sam Traub, Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs; Amanda Matheison, Vice President, Finance; and Kerry Appleyard, Head of Development, Drama.
As of December 2009, John Young (formerly of OMERS Private Equity) was appointed Managing Director, responsible for managing the company’s day–to-day business operations. He also sits on the company’s Board of Directors, which includes Schneeberg, Fortier and Hilary Read (COO, BBC Worldwide Canada). The company is represented in Los Angeles by CAA and all public relations are handled by Holmes Communications out of Toronto, Canada.
In late 2008, BBC Worldwide acquired a minority 25% stake in Temple Street. Temple Street has a first look on all BBC Worldwide controlled formats in Canada, and BBC Worldwide has a first look at international distribution rights to television projects developed and controlled by Temple Street.
